Apparently more than 1 in 3 graduates from the Atlanta Police Academy have a prior criminal record including charges like assault.  One recent graduate wrote on his application that “their psychologist deemed me to be ‘psychologicaly incompatable’ [sic] for the L.A.P.D.”

It may not be as bad as Dekalb County police getting in shootouts that left at least 11 people dead in 2006, but I wish we didn’t have to ask questions like this of the people who are supposed to protect us:

Have you ever used marijuana?

Have you ever been with a prostitute?

Have you ever driven under the influence of alcohol or drugs?

Have you ever been physically arrested or cited with criminal charges?
