Best Money per Unit of Fun Purchases
Here are my all-time top 3:
1) NHL 2003

We spent $3 on a used copy of NHL 2002 that turned out to be a 2003 disc inside a 2002 case. While living at 511 we easily put over 1000 hours into that game. Steve went through 12-15 seasons with the Thrashers. By the end we hadn’t heard of a single player on his team. Also, there was the infamous AARON SUX tournament that I destroyed thanks to poor drafting by my friends and the power North America.
No question this is number 1 on my list for a long time.
2) Peachtree Tavern Mug
So, one of the bars around here has this deal where you can buy a 22 oz. mug for $5 and fill it up as often as you want Monday through Thursday for $1 (MGD) or $2 (Bud Light). Clearly this is the best option if you are going to be drinking beer.
3) Breakaway Nerf basketball hoop

$4 from Target bought last week. This could very easily jump to #2 as I get more time with it. We’ve already had some solid HORSE competitions, best shot contests, and 3 point-esque contests. It’s set up in the kitchen so bank shots off the cabinets, stove and fridge are all fair game and encouraged. Dunks are lame, but lord knows we just can’t help ourselves sometimes.
The one thing that may keep it from getting to #2 is it’s durability. It seems like this thing could get broken pretty quickly, which is another reason we’re trying to minimize dunking.
