AKA that girl from the MacBook Air commercial so it’s not that different from how I learned of Ingrid Michaelson from that Old Navy sweaters commercial.  That’s two commercials that have learned me of two pretty awesome artists.  Well, I guess you can go three if you count learning about The Fratellis from an iPod commercial last year.  If you’ve ever heard a song on some kind of advertisement and want to know who it is, check out adtunes.  They have a great forum with information on that stuff, but you have to sign up to be able to search.

Anyway, Yael Naim.  Great stuff.  If you’ve seen the MacBook commercial, it’s pretty much more of that, although a lot of the stuff isn’t quite as poppy.  She was born in Paris to Jewish parents and her latest CD is split fairly evenly between French, English and Hebrew.  The English is a little rough, but I think that adds to the songs if anything.  I know that sounds weird, but you just have to trust me on this.

According to her wikipedia page iTunes put her song Far, Far up for free download recently so go get it now.  It’s probably my favorite on the cd.

And just for the record, no, she is neither as hot nor as awesome as Ingrid Michaelson.  But she speaks French, which makes up for most of that.
