Thanks to Klein via Aaron for this amazing recommendation.
It’s Garfield strips with Garfield taken out. The site describes it as: “a journey deep into the tortured mind of an isolated young everyman as he fights a losing battle against lonliness in a quiet American suburb. ”
Amazing.

Here are my all-time top 3:
1) NHL 2003

We spent $3 on a used copy of NHL 2002 that turned out to be a 2003 disc inside a 2002 case. While living at 511 we easily put over 1000 hours into that game. Steve went through 12-15 seasons with the Thrashers. By the end we hadn’t heard of a single player on his team. Also, there was the infamous AARON SUX tournament that I destroyed thanks to poor drafting by my friends and the power North America.
No question this is number 1 on my list for a long time.
2) Peachtree Tavern Mug

So, one of the bars around here has this deal where you can buy a 22 oz. mug for $5 and fill it up as often as you want Monday through Thursday for $1 (MGD) or $2 (Bud Light). Clearly this is the best option if you are going to be drinking beer.
3) Breakaway Nerf basketball hoop

$4 from Target bought last week. This could very easily jump to #2 as I get more time with it. We’ve already had some solid HORSE competitions, best shot contests, and 3 point-esque contests. It’s set up in the kitchen so bank shots off the cabinets, stove and fridge are all fair game and encouraged. Dunks are lame, but lord knows we just can’t help ourselves sometimes.
The one thing that may keep it from getting to #2 is it’s durability. It seems like this thing could get broken pretty quickly, which is another reason we’re trying to minimize dunking.

Meet your Hawks MVP. Starting caliber point guard. Reason for Shelden William’s departure. Ender of playoff droughts.
The Hawks gave up 3 expiring contracts (Tyronn Lue, Anthony Johnson, Lorenzen Wright), superbust Shelden Williams, and their 2nd round draft pick for Mike Bibby. Pretty awesome I say.
It does suck that we still have Speedy on the roster, but he’ll come off after next year, which will also be when Bibby’s current contract is up. I don’t know if we’ll be able to keep him considering JJ’s deal and the one Josh Smith should be rewarded with this summer, but we’ll see. We are also going to need to pick someone up by the end of the All Star break to get to the NBA minimum of 13 players. Hopefully we find some diamond in the rough center who can put in minutes because we aren’t going to have any draft picks this off season.
One last thing I wanted to talk about with this trade is Tyronn Lue. I hated him when he was a Laker. Hated. When he became a Hawk I kept that hate for a while. But he grew on me over the seasons and by this point I was a legitimate fan of his. I won’t say I’m upset to see him go, but I will miss him. And, just to show how class of a person he really is, this was his quote on the situation from the AJC:
“It’s definitely a good trade for the Hawks,” Lue said by phone from Mexico, where he was vacationing for All-Star Weekend. “Bibby’s a great point guard. And Acie can learn a lot from him. Bibby’s a proven scorer and a proven winner in this league. If you could trade me and AJ for Bibby, you’ve definitely upgraded the point-guard position.
“Hopefully, this will be what the Hawks need to get to the next level.”
You stay classy Tyronn.

AKA that girl from the MacBook Air commercial so it’s not that different from how I learned of Ingrid Michaelson from that Old Navy sweaters commercial. That’s two commercials that have learned me of two pretty awesome artists. Well, I guess you can go three if you count learning about The Fratellis from an iPod commercial last year. If you’ve ever heard a song on some kind of advertisement and want to know who it is, check out adtunes. They have a great forum with information on that stuff, but you have to sign up to be able to search.
Anyway, Yael Naim. Great stuff. If you’ve seen the MacBook commercial, it’s pretty much more of that, although a lot of the stuff isn’t quite as poppy. She was born in Paris to Jewish parents and her latest CD is split fairly evenly between French, English and Hebrew. The English is a little rough, but I think that adds to the songs if anything. I know that sounds weird, but you just have to trust me on this.
According to her wikipedia page iTunes put her song Far, Far up for free download recently so go get it now. It’s probably my favorite on the cd.
And just for the record, no, she is neither as hot nor as awesome as Ingrid Michaelson. But she speaks French, which makes up for most of that.
