Good Effing Day

Somehow the Hawks  ducked David Stern’s apparent hatred for tanking teams and ended up with 2 top 11 picks in the NBA lottery.  Lots of combinations will make me happy here.  Yi Jianlian/Al Horford and Conley Jr/Crittenton/Law IV, Conley and Hawes/Hibbert, etc.  God willing, Billy Knight won’t end up sticking us with Corey Brewer and Josh McRoberts.

The Braves exposed Senor Smoke for the scrub he is and beat the Mets 8-1.  I’m embarassed to have had my picture taken with you on my birthday Jorge Sosa.  The Mets are clearly a better team than the Braves, but keeping it close is always nice.

And finally, the most important entry of them all.  The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team won the national championship tonight.  It’s the first fuly recognized championship for a Tech team (b/c NCAA football is weird) and it went to a great group.  I’m glad I got to know some of those people when I worked at the tennis center, and I can tell you that Bryan Shelton and Alison Silverio deserve this as much as anyone.

So yeah.  All around the sports world today pretty much rocked.
