I got a little out of hand in the last post. Jen is not stupid, even though she is an Emory student. In fact, she got a 36 on her MCAT, and has a 3.8 GPA while lettering in 3 sports. She applied to 7 med schools, and has received interviews from Baylor, Emory, UCLA, Vanderbilt and Wake Forest so far.
So, she IS smart, and should not be categorized with the other students at Emory. In fact, she was against the shuttle idea from the start, so we know she’s much better than they are.

If you had to think of the best way to waste money, what would it be? Well, at Emory they decided it would be to start a shuttle running 5 nights a week that would take students off campus to area bars. This all sounds well and good, except that they managed to spend over $36,000 on this. Strike one for the student government.
Strike two came in their execution of the idea. First, they designed the bus route so that it stops in front of a sophomore only dorm, I guess not thinking any school officials would notice. Secondly, when the AJC ran an article about the new shuttle 4 of the 6 people mentioned in the article were under drinking age, and made that clear by saying they were sophomores or freshmen. I really can’t wrap my head around that kind of stupidity, but it exists in the Emory students Eric Gottlieb, Dan Chertok, and Lara Stahl. Jonathan Beam is almost 21, but he gets an extra award for apparently lying to the AJC by saying he’s 21, when we can all see on his facebook profile that he was born March 27th, 1986. Good for you though Jonathan, you did your best not to eff the situation up.
So, now, barely a week after the shuttle started it’s been shut down indefinitely by Emory. Even with only running a week $11,000 has been spent that will never return. And all because Emory students are stupid.
